Denah, Personal Care Products can be tricky, but there are quite a few safe products on the market. See my post: http://livingglutenandgrainfree.com/2011/02/14/gluten-free-pe…are-products-2/ . That should get you in the right direction. For multiple allergies GFsoap.com is a good place to start. Several on-line retailers also allow you to search by allergen....Try Vitacost.com, or Lucky Vitamin.com. Plain Organic Coconut Oil is a great skin moisturizer and gluten free. We use Weleda Toothpaste, but Logona, Toms of Maine, Desert Essence, and Jason also make Gluten Free Toothpaste. Hope this information helps and I wish you the best in health!

Heather, I am glad you found the list helpful. Many of these can be purchased at Whole Foods and I've got my fingers crossed that your rash clears up sooner rather than later. Good luck to you as you continue on the path of health :)

Thanks for this list. Some of these brands I can buy at my local Whole Foods store. I have to eat gluten free, grain free, dairy free and sugar free for now because of health reasons...and it's mean life-saving. I'm gradually switching over my entire lifestyle to gluten free...and when I started seeing a rash on my face after showering, I was wondering what is from. I began to suspect gluten in my laundry soap....and researched it online and found your article here. THANK YOU....I think this will make a huge difference in how my skin feels and looks!!!! Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

Ingrid, I have sent you an e-mail with more detailed information, but the gluten free laundry detergents that we have used without reaction include: Seventh Generation, ECOS, and Tropical Traditions. We avoid the scented products (just to play it safe), and each of these companies produce unscented laundry products. Good Luck!

My daughter an adult that is pregnant is super sensitive for gluten. I am buying and making things for the baby and want to make sure I am laundering them without gluten. I have been using Tide liquid, but wonder if there is a baby detergent that is good for the infant things. Also what about the diapers and baby products...that are gluten free. My daughter can't use tape for disposables etc, no cross contamination...or she gets very sick. My daughter is super sensitive. All toothpaste soaps, lotions etc. Can't kiss anyone that isn't free of gluten. I am afraid the baby won't be able to be at my house tho I am slowing way down on gluten things myself tho I don't have a problem. Help!

Patty, If you are at all concerned discontinue using the product. Unfortunately I have not been able to confirm that Norwex Ultra Plus Laundry Detergent is Gluten Free, and the information that it was free of gluten was submitted by a reader. Please also keep in mind that companies change their suppliers and ingredients frequently, so what may have been gluten free a month ago may not be gluten free when you purchase it next week. I have also found that Norwex Ultra Plus contains some chemicals which concern me, so I would definitely not use this product for my family.

I was trying to find out if Norwex was gluten free and saw your posting. I couldn't tell from list of ingredients. I didn't thinks so. But we just started using it and my husband (celiac) is breaking out ALL over with a rash. This is one of his sypmtoms. This is the only thing I can think of that we have changed.
